Principal Consultant - Aliya combines over 16 years of clinical nursing practice with 11 years of nursing informatics expertise to lead and advise on multi-disciplined clinical system transformation projects involving leading EHRs and Telehealth solutions for hospitals, vendors, and provider practices across the U.S. and Canada. She manages the daily activities of the company, and continues to work directly with clients which provides her a great deal of insight into today's current healthcare IT issues and challenges.
Prior to founding AMR Healthcare Consulting, Aliya served as a Quality and Outcomes Consultant for a leading EHR vendor where she developed and implemented outcomes methodologies to measure the impact of EHR use on clinical and financial improvements in healthcare organizations. She also served as a Nurse Researcher for the National Institutes of Health, and as a Nurse Informatics Consultant for the Veterans Health Administration, Chief Health Informatics Office.
For disseminating best practices in nursing informatics, Aliya received the Nursing Informatics award for excellence from the Online Journal of Nursing Informatics in 2011. Her clinical experience includes intensive care, critical care, and trauma nursing. She is a Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of Florida, an active member of the American Nursing Informatics Association, Healthcare Information and Management System Society, and a Nurse Leader in Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Aliya has a Master’s in Health Systems Management from George Mason University, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University.
